How we verify data
We publish financial facts supported by official provider documents or regulator records. Each supported figure links to evidence, its applicable date or financial year, and the date we checked it.
Evidence before publication
Old seeded figures and missing-value defaults are not evidence. Unsupported figures and stability scores are withheld. Conflicting rates, missing dates, currencies and unclear calculation methods require editorial review.
Freshness and historical figures
Daily sources expire for current comparisons after 7 days; monthly sources after 62 days; annual sources after 400 days. Expiry is based on the applicable date for rates, not when a scraper retrieved them. Supported old observations remain labelled historical. A successful fetch does not make an old rate current.
Comparisons and estimates
Funds are listed alphabetically. A higher headline percentage cannot establish a better investment. Comparable rates need matching dates, reporting periods, currencies, fee and tax bases and annualization methods. Our calculator labels projections as estimates and asks for explicit assumptions when the basis is unknown.
Regulatory records
CMA scheme approval and SASRA licensing are verified separately from product returns. A licence does not guarantee financial soundness, liquidity or future performance. SACCO dividends on shares and interest on deposits are distinct financial-year observations.
Review and corrections
Verified automation may publish unambiguous, dated official observations. Uncertain candidates enter an editor review queue. Reviews retain source evidence, the reviewer and review date. Provider terms may change; confirm payment details directly before transferring funds.
